Hi, my name's Josie Calvert Briggs and I started weightlifting in April 2009. I was going to the gym a lot already and doing general strength stuff when my gym instructor Rob Parsons suggested I used my strength for a sporting purpose. He suggested weightlifting, which he taught me the basics of until we had to seek out an expert to help with my technique. We found John Walton who is now my main coach. He also started coaching Holly Skinner (check out her blog: Olympic Lifting For Girls) who is great to train with. This blog follows my progress as a weightlifter!
